ambot-ah!: Sta Cruz Island: Pink Sand Beach in Zamboanga (Jan2012)

Is there really such a thing as a pink sand beach? and does the beaches of the Santa Cruz Islands in Zamboanga really have a characteristic pink sand as popularized?
These were a few questions I wanted to figure out for myself during my first trip to Zamboanga City.
The day before my planned trip to the Santa Cruz Islands, I went to the Department of Tourism (DOT) Regional Office located beside Lantaka Hotel (NS Valderosa Street). All tourist visiting the islands are required to coordinate with the DOT since they are the ones arranging transportation and coordinating with the military station in the island.

lakwatsero.me: zamboanga city day trip (Apr 11, 2010)

In probably the most impulsive lakwatsa trip ever, I went on a day trip to Zamboanga City. Flew on Cebu Pacfic leaving Manila at around 5:50am then return to Manila on the 4:30pm flight back. And to top it off… the trip did not include any plans as to where to go, what to do, what to see, etc. The only planning involved was my booking the flight two weeks earlier.

Pinay Travel Junkie: Zamboanga City

I wish I wrote more about Zamboanga when I visited this city summer of 2006. ironwulf: Zamboanga:Yakan people and their weaving

When I last visited Zamboanga en route to Tawi-Tawi, I had a chance again to visit the Yakan Village in Upper Calarian, Zamboanga. The village is located just across the popular La Vista del Mar resort which can be reached by a jeep or a tricycle around 30-45 minutes from the city center of Zamboanga. Nothing much has changed since my last visit in 2007. The place still holds various yakan weaving souvenirs which is a famous draw both for local and foreign tourist. Read more...

Ivan About Town: Zamboanga City's colorful heritage

One thing I get to enjoy attending all these out-of-town conferences is that I get to explore the place after. So before flying back to Manila, we made sure to visit (revisit in some cases) the different cultural attractions of Zamboanga City. The cultural fabric of Asia's Latin City is evindently intact and one call definitely feel Zambaonga's spirit of place as we went around the city. Read More....
