Pinay Travel Junkie: Zamboanga City

I wish I wrote more about Zamboanga when I visited this city summer of 2006. Now I can barely remember the places we went and the people who hosted us (such a shame I am not in contact with them anymore). Thank goodness we took photos (otherwise Zamboanga will just be a distant memory)! Here's a few we took in the vibrant City of Flowers:


ironwulf: Zamboanga:Yakan people and their weaving

When I last visited Zamboanga en route to Tawi-Tawi, I had a chance again to visit the Yakan Village in Upper Calarian, Zamboanga. The village is located just across the popular La Vista del Mar resort which can be reached by a jeep or a tricycle around 30-45 minutes from the city center of Zamboanga. Nothing much has changed since my last visit in 2007. The place still holds various yakan weaving souvenirs which is a famous draw both for local and foreign tourist. Read more...

Ivan About Town: Zamboanga City's colorful heritage

One thing I get to enjoy attending all these out-of-town conferences is that I get to explore the place after. So before flying back to Manila, we made sure to visit (revisit in some cases) the different cultural attractions of Zamboanga City. The cultural fabric of Asia's Latin City is evindently intact and one call definitely feel Zambaonga's spirit of place as we went around the city. Read More....

christmas na! :D

on our way home last tuesday(Nov3), we saw men installing the christmas lanterns on streetlights along Nunez Extension (directly in front of Ciudad Medical Zamboanga)...

well... Christmas is less than 50 days away! :D
